We are already taking up pictures for the senior class day slide show. To make sure we have a wide diversity of people in the presentation, I'd like to ask all of you to turn in your pictures of MINOR HIGH SCHOOL seniors only to the box outside of Mr. Allen's class, Room G-226. Be sure to print your name and telephone number on the back, just in case we are unable to find you before the end of the school year to return your pictures. On behalf of the Senior class officers, I would like to thank you for your support.

Josh Lively
Senior Class President

PS Keep an eye out for information on a possible open car show benefiting our senior class.

Ok guys and gals, here's the deal. After a one year absense, the tennis team is back in business at Minor. Mr. Paris will be our coach, and he is supposed to be like a pro (AND a lefty..) So I have already been chosen to spear-head the recruitment of girls and guys for the team. If any of you are interested, please talk to me. Tennis season is during the spring, pretty much the same as baseball and softball, so if any of you don't have a sport you are playing this spring, I hope you will seriously consider playing tennis. Even if you have never played before, that is totally cool because I can always give you all the pointers I can. Plus I can always use somebody to practice with.

Purple - Color between violet and red, formerly worn as a symbol of royalty or high office. Imperial power; high rank: born to the purple.

Pride - A sense of one's own proper dignity or value; self-respect. Pleasure or satisfaction taken in an achievement, possession, or association: parental pride. A cause or source of pleasure or satisfaction; the best of a group or class: These soldiers were their country's pride. The most successful or thriving condition; prime: the pride of youth.

Ghetto - A section of a city occupied by a minority group who live there especially because of social, economic, or legal pressure. An often walled quarter in a European city to which Jews were restricted beginning in the Middle Ages. Something that resembles the restriction or isolation of a city ghetto: “trapped in ethnic or pink-collar managerial job ghettoes”

Now which one did Mr. Phillips teach us to live by? If I remember correctly its purple pride... am I wrong?

Hello Everyone. [May 7 2005]

[ mood | curious ]

I don't think I know any of you that are on here. I might. But, I dunno.

My name is Krystal Mouser. I graduated in '04 .......

I now attend UAB (college! woo hoo!). Trust me ... its not THAT much different from High School ... only difference: you set the times of classes and u get to leave campus whenever you feel like it ...

you can smoke ... drink if you are careful (trust me I do these things) ... and just about anything else! lol

anyway. Hope I can find someone I remember from here ...

I heard Mr. Phillios is leaving (or has already left). It sucks. He was the GREATEST principal ever!

"Black Monday" [April 29 2005]

I just copied and pasted from the last post on LJ, something I'm now referring to as Black Monday:

Also, a teacher who shall remain nameless asked me today to get the word out: She wants us ALL to wear black on Monday, in silent protest and also to show that this is similar to a funeral in its nature.. I really hope all of you will do this, I know I am. Just get the word out to all who wouldnt be reading this post..

Thanx guys!

Anyone and everyone… I know the situation w/ Mr. Phillips… and he doesn’t want to leave… He is asking for as many people as possible to oppose this to the board… They are gonna have a meeting or something and he wants as many parents and student to come… The only reason they hare forcing him to leave is b/c the Erwin teachers are threatening to quit now if someone new doesn’t get in there… The board is afraid of getting threatened and they will jump at any threat made… Such at suing the board… I agree this is bullcrap… but if we want him to stay we need to do something about it… anyone in?
